She's been working in the field for over 17 years; providing educational and behavioral services for children and their families. She specializes in Applied Behavior Analysis, Verbal Behavior, Picture Exchange Communication, Discrete Trial Teaching and parent training.
Candy is from Argentina where she earned her undergraduate degree in Education for the Deaf and those with speech disorders. She was first introduced to the field of ABA in Buenos Aires, where she trained with specialists from the Lovaas Institute for Early Intervention from the United States as well as Spain. She was part of a small group of pioneers who wanted to provide cutting edge intervention to children with Autism, as ABA services in Argentina did not exist at that time. While still in Argentina, Ms. Torres and two colleagues founded "Fundacion Asemco", an organization dedicated to children with Autism.
Looking to further her contributions to the field of Autism intervention, Ms. Torres moved to the United States where she earned her Master's degree in Special Education from George Mason University. While in Washington D.C., she founded a non-profit organization, "Foundation for Child Development". It served mostly low income families of children with Autism and developmental delays.
She moved to Los Angeles where she became a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) and joined Resources in Autism Education in 2004.
She loves to work with children and families of different cultures and ages. She's passionate about working with parents, as a knowledgeable and involved family is the key to success. She believes in an individualized program tailored to each child and family. She devotes all of her energies to helping each child reach their greatest potential.
